Why You Should Give

Research has shown that birth to five years is the most crucial time in a child’s development. Here at Providence, we have the experience, the expertise and the compassion to support children with disabilities as early as 19 months and truly make a difference. The small miracles we create every day can add up to dramatic changes in the trajectory of a child’s life.

At Providence we believe every child has the right to reach for and achieve their full potential. We invite you to join us to help make that happen.

While much of our funding comes from our government partners, Alberta Education, Calgary and Area Child and Family Services Authority (CFSA) and the Regional Collaborative Service Delivery (RCS), not all of our costs are covered. We rely on the support of donors and sponsors to help ensure our programs and services remain accessible to all families and to help us maintain the level of excellence in therapy and education Providence is known for.

For example, our funding does not cover capital costs (building/leasing space in new
communities near young families), student transportation costs, the cost of our Nutrition Program, or our unique Early Intervention program (for very young children 19 months to 2 years).

There are many ways you can support Providence:

Celebration Donations: Looking for a meaningful gift for your friend or loved one?

A donation to Providence is a wonderful way to honour someone special in your life.
Celebration donations are ideal for birthdays, weddings, graduations, anniversaries, births, bar/bat mitzvahs, retirements, awards, and holidays. If you choose, we will be happy to send a card to notify your friend or family member of your thoughtfulness.

Host Your Own Event

Another way to support Providence is to host an event on our behalf. Let your imagination go wild while involving your children, family, extended family and friends.

Here’s some ideas.

Gifts of Securities.

Donate appreciated stocks, bonds mutual funds, segregated funds and flow-through shares and take advantage of tax benefits.

A gift of securities is a cost-effective opportunity to transform an asset into immediate and significant support for Providence. By donating publicly-traded securities, you eliminate the capital gains tax that becomes payable if you were to sell the appreciated securities on the market and donate the proceeds from the sale to Providence.

Name Providence in your Will.

Your thoughtfulness today will create healthier futures for children with disabilities in our community.

Making plans for a future gift in your Will to Providence is a wonderful way to celebrate your lifetime and ensure that today’s children with disabilities, along with generations to follow, will benefit from the best therapy and education possible.
