Supported Childcare Program

By providing the resources needed to establish a fully inclusive setting, Supported Child Care enables licensed and approved child care programs to welcome in children with extra needs or challenging behaviours, thus providing the child with stability and consistency in care. Supported Child Care is funded by the Ministry of Children’s Services and is provided at no cost to child care programs.

Supported Child Care also conducts observations, as required by Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD), to determine eligibility for a 1:1 aide in the child care program. The referred child must have an open FSCD contract. FSCD has the sole discretion to approve or decline funding for 1:1 support.
